FIRST GRADE HOMEWORK SHEET
WEEK OF MAY 13, 2012
1.
HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!!
2.
If possible, please bring your child to St.
Boniface Church this Sunday, May 13, for the 10:30 Mass. They Rhythm Band will be performing for the “Rooted
in Faith” initiative. The performance will
take place right before Mass begins. The
students will then be dismissed to sit with their parents. Mrs. Koprovic would like the students to be
in church by 10:15, wearing church clothes.
(As an incentive, she is giving prizes to all who attend.)
3.
On the back of
this sheet, please find a calendar entitled “Praying for Our Children.” This calendar will allow you to pray 31
different biblical virtues into your children.
Believe that God is working each one of these virtues into your children’s
lives!
4.
Due to your
children having fewer and fewer books in their desks, you might consider having
them bring a couple of books from home to read in their free time. Thanks.
5.
I hope everyone
has a great weekend!

FIRST GRADE HOMEWORK SHEET
WEEK OF MAY 6, 2012
BIBLE
VERSE: “I will praise You, Lord, in the
assembly of Your people.”
1.
We will have May Crowning on Monday before we
attend Mass. Please send a flower to
school with your child that morning. It
is not necessary to send the flower in a vase since we will be laying the
flowers before Mary early in the morning.
2.
We will not be having anymore Spelling
tests. This week is the last week for
Bible verses.
3.
On the back of
this sheet, I have copied a workbook series that is really good, if you are
interested in working with your child over the summer. These can be purchased at Books-a-Million and
Learning Oasis. You would want the 1-2
book which would be a compilation of 1st grade and 2nd
grade activities.
4.
Parents, I have
really enjoyed working with your children this year. My husband and I are leaving on May 12 for a
two-week trip to Germany and Italy.
Therefore, my last day with the children will be Friday, May 11. Dr. Hollenbeck has arranged for Brooke
Hindman, a certified teacher, to be the sub while I am gone. I am lining everything out for her. Your children have been so great for me; I
know they will be super for her!
I hope everyone has a great
weekend!

FIRST GRADE HOMEWORK SHEET
WEEK OF APRIL 29, 2012
BIBLE
VERSE: “The earth is full of the
goodness of the Lord.”
1.
Your child was given a new Reading book on
Friday. This new book will not be coming
home due to the end of the school year being so near. Therefore, there will be no more homework for
this year. I will still be giving
Spelling tests and testing over Bible verses.
2.
We are going to
see the horses at the horse farm on Tuesday.
Your children are welcome to wear a St. Boniface t-shirt to school that
day. They still need to wear school
uniform shorts or pants. (The road out
to the horse farm is fairly curvy. If
your child is prone to car sickness, please consider giving him/her medicine
before sending him/her to school.)
3.
On Tuesday
afternoon we will be watching the matinee of the Spring Program at 1:30. I hear it is really great! The evening performance is that same night at
7 p.m.
I hope everyone has a great
weekend!

FIRST GRADE HOMEWORK SHEET
WEEK OF APRIL 22, 2012
BIBLE
VERSE: “Lord, let Your face shine on us.”
1.
There will be no homework or Spelling test
this week. The children will be taking
the test over the skills from the 5th Reading book. They will be given a new Reading book on
Friday. Please make sure your child
brings the old Reading book to school on Friday to trade out.
2.
We raised $32.08
during Lent for the Heifer project. That
was enough money to purchase ducks, chicks, or honeybees. The children voted to purchase chicks for the
Heifer Project. Thanks to all of you who
helped support this worthy cause!
3.
You will find
your child’s Mid-Quarter Report in this week’s Friday folder. Please take the time to review it. Some children’s grades have fallen because
they are losing focus on their schoolwork.
I told them that we still have six weeks of school, and they still need
to do their best until school is out!
4.
Please sign the
permission slip and return it as soon as possible. I need to get the drivers arranged for this
trip.
I hope everyone has a great
weekend!

God.”
1.
In the Friday folders, please find a copy of
our testing schedule for this week.
Please, if at all possible, try to schedule any doctor or dentist
appointments for the afternoons for this week.
2.
I would ask that
you please make sure that your child has a good breakfast each morning, have
your child go to bed early, have your child lay his/her clothes out the night
before and put the backpack and shoes by the front door to ensure a stress-free
morning. Encourage your child to do the
best job he/she can possibly do on the test.
Everyone needs to be at school before 8:00 due to testing. Please be prompt.
3.
There will be no
Brain Booster or Spelling test for this week, but I will still test on the
Bible verse.

Attached to this
sheet, please find a form to order Highlights magazine for your child. I believe some of you already subscribe to
this magazine. Whether you choose to do
so or not, all I need you to do is mark “Yes” or “No” and please sign the form, and then return it as soon as
possible. The company will provide me
with free gifts for the classroom just for returning these forms. Thank you so much!
5.
We are out of
school on Friday, April 6, for Good Friday, and Monday, April 9, for Easter
